Business Development Manager Russia and the CIS

Job Description:

Business Development Manager is responsible for growing sales across our conference portfolio in the Russian and the CIS markets

Job purpose:

  • To grow sales across key clients throughout Russia and the CIS countries
  • To manage existing accounts and win new business in highly competitive markets
  • To keep excellent customer relationships


  • Developing new business across Russia and the CIS countries by analysing sales figures, preparing proposals for marketing campaigns and promotional activities and undertaking market research
  • Keeping updated with the current trends and developments of the market daily
  • Identify, approach and invite potential sponsors and delegates for each conference
  • Establishing & developing high-level relationships with key customers
  • Managing existing accounts
  • Meeting direct sales and event targets
  • Managing the whole sales cycle
  • Producing reports with recommendations, concerning marketing and sales strategies for senior management
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors
  • Visiting clients on a regular basis, at least twice a year
  • Attending our events and work effectively with the team on-site to ensure smooth running of the events and looking after our clients


  • Solid B2B sales experience, (minimum 6 months)
  • Proven new business development and account management abilities
  • Should speak and write in Russian to a native level
  • To have a good long-term strategic mind set.
  • Good understanding of the conference business and preferably in the oil and gas sector in Russia and the CIS.
  • Good understanding of the Russian and CIS market and ability to identify regulatory, legal or cultural differences that might affect sales
  • Excellent communication skills

Employment Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and solid commercial experience
  • Fluent in English and Russian languages (both written and spoken)
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally 


25K – 27K – Basic salary + profit share + bonuses

Experienced Russian Speaking Conference Producer

We are looking for an experienced and professional conference producer to join our friendly and highly motivated team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the research, development, management and onsite facilitation of 3 business conferences per year in the oil and gas sector.

Main Duties:

  • Conduct telephone research with potential attendees to develop commercial conference agenda that meet the stated needs of the market
  • Keeping updated on a daily basis with the current trends and developments of the market
  • Identify, invite and confirm appropriate speakers and advisory board members to create commercially viable conference programme
  • Write marketing copy for promotional materials, email campaigns, press releases and other mailing pieces to ensure successful marketing of the conferences
  • Ability to identify potential sponsors and exhibitors and sell our competitive packages
  • Reporting to senior management, presenting a summary of the event’s practical and commercial progress
  • Work effectively with the team on-site to ensure smooth running of the events


  • At least 2 years commercial experience as a conference producer preferably in the oil and gas sector
  • Fluent in English and Russian languages (both written and spoken)
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • To be able to overlook and manage multiple projects
  • Creativity and an innovative approach
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an advantage
  • Deadline and results oriented
  • Time and priority management skills necessary to complete work within established timeframes
  • Ability to analyse ideas from a commercial perspective
  • Willingness to travel internationally
