Chairman of the Board and General Director of SIBUR Holding Mikhail Karisalov will deliver a keynote speech at the plenary session of the sixth international CIS Petrochemicals conference. The speakers of the plenary session will discuss the importance and place of petrochemistry in the global hydrocarbon strategy, and will also touch upon the implementation of the region’s competitive advantages in the oil and gas and chemical sector.
SIBUR is currently building the largest in Russia modern petrochemical complex “ZapSibNeftekhim” – one of the largest petrochemical projects in the world. It is planned to construct a pyrolysis plant with the production of 1.5 million tons of ethylene, 500,000 tons of propylene per year, and 100,000 tons of butane-butylene fraction. The project is being built in the city of Tobolsk in 2012 and to date SIBUR has involved 20,521 builders and 38 direct Russian and foreign contractors on this project
