Vitol, one of the largest oil traders in the world, is looking to gain access to Kazakhstan’s growing light oil and petrochemicals output.
Refinery modernization in Kazakhstan contributed to the growth of light oil products supply, which expected to rise by 23 percent this year. At the same time, exports of heavy oil products, such as fuel oil and vacuum gas oil are expected to fall.
Vitol has been a major player in Kazakh oil exports, transporting heavy oil products to Russian ports and shipping them to European refineries. Now, Vitol aims to get light oil products to compensate for the reduction of heavy oil products output available for export.
All the latest trends and changes in downstream sector of Kazakhstan will be discussed at the 5th “Downstream Caspian and Central Asia conference” on 4-5th December in Almaty. You are welcome to check the latest agenda of the event.
