TAIF-NK COMPLEX FOR DEEP PROCESSING OF OIL RESIDUES SHOULD FINALLY BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF 2018

Commissioning work on the complex of deep processing of heavy residues of oil «TAIF-NK» must be completed before the end of the year, said the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on Monday.
The cost of the project, according to him, is 1.7 billion dollars.
Among the strategic objectives of the petrochemical complex Minnikhanov also mentioned the start on the complex «TANECO» new installation ELOU AVT-6 that will bring the oil refining capacity to 14 million tons, start of production of motor gasoline of Euro-5, as well as the implementation of the project for the construction of Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s new ethylene production capacity of 600 thousand tons, commissioning at «Kazanorgsintez» new pyrolysis furnace.
According to Tatarstan President, for the past 5 years the enterprises of the petrochemical complex maintain a steady growth rate of investment, which is directed mainly to the implementation of breakthrough, high-tech, innovative projects. «It is important to maintain this positive momentum», he said.
«In General, the main task is the development and adoption of the new program of development of petrochemical complex of Tatarstan. We need to move from setting goals and objectives for the next 5 years to more long-term. The priority should be projects on the use of oil as a valuable raw material for the petrochemical industry», — said Minnikhanov.
Construction of complex of deep processing of heavy residues of oil «TAIF-NK» was launched in 2012. Initially, the project was planned to be completed by the end of 2016, but due to the problems that have arisen, construction continues to this day. The complex includes a hydrocracker unit, hydrogen production unit, sulphur recovery unit, and a number of auxiliary installations and commodity parks. The processing capacity of the new complex will amount to 3.7 million tons per year. The launch of the new complex will increase the depth of oil processing at TAIF-NK to 95%.
