Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Haldor Topsoe sign contracts for license and engineering for a methanol unit

Denis Maksimov – Head of the Development and Organization of New Productions and Dmitry Galanin – Deputy Head of New Production Development and Management will be attending both CIS Petrochemicals and CIS Gas Monetisation conferences this April in Moscow.
PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Haldor Topsoe signed contracts for license and engineering services for a new methanol unit with a capacity of 500,000 tons per year. The signing ceremony took place in TAIF headquarters.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim mainly uses methanol (methyl alcohol) to produce formaldehyde as a feedstock for the company’s isoprene production. The new methanol unit will make the isoprene facilities more efficient and reduce production costs.
While it disclosed neither a timeframe nor value of the contract, Haldor Topsoe said NKNK intends for the methanol unit to increase efficiency and reduce production costs at the complex’s isoprene production installations.
