Aleksey Antonov, Head of Project Execution & Construction Department, joined delegates of the 7th CIS Petrochemicals conference. He will take part in the “Zero to one” panel discussion focused on big investment decisions in a high-risk sector (11 Apr, Moscow).
Lukoil produces pyrolysis and organic synthesis products, fuel fractions, and polymer materials, satisfying a considerable part of the domestic demand for a number of chemical products; at the same time it is a major exporter of chemical products to more than 30 countries of the world.
The company has petrochemical facilities in Russia (Saratovorgsintez, Stavrolen), Bulgaria (LUKOIL Neftokhim Burgas refinery with petrochemical operations), and Italy (ISAB refinery with petrochemical operations).
Last year at the Investor day held by the company Lukoil announced plans on development of its petrochemical business and potential development of gas chemistry with the monetization of available feedstock and integration of existing plants. These plans include modernization of existing capacities in Budyunovsk, Perm, Nizhniy Novgorod and Volgograd and construction of a new gas chemical plant.
Vagit Alekperov, Lukoil CEO announced in March that the investment decision has been taken and the company is to start the project feasibility study.
