Uzbekneftegaz has offered Swiss company Bluestone Group to take the Fergana refinery in trusted management, media reported.
This became known after the negotiations between the first deputy chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz, Ulugbek Sayidov, and the executive director of the Bluestone Group, Solomon Wolf.
“During the discussion, representatives of the Swiss company expressed their interest in cooperating in promising projects of Uzbekneftegaz on terms of equity financing. In this regard, the foreign party was invited to participate in the modernization of the Fergana refinery under as a trustee manager and construction of a gas chemical complex using MTO technology as an investor” – noted in “Uzbekneftegaz”.
Today, in addition to the Bukhara refinery and the Fergana refinery, Uzbekistan has a small Uzbek-Russian joint venture Jarkurgan Oil Refining, which specializes in heavy oil refining.
It should be noted that Uzbekneftegaz is also implementing a project for the construction of a new oil refining complex in the Jizzakh region with a capacity of 5 million tons per year. The enterprise will receive raw materials from the fields of Kazakhstan and Russia. When entering the project load, the plant will be able to produce 3.1 million tons of automotive fuel, 1 million tons of aviation kerosene, LPG, fuel oil, bitumen and other products.
