The impact of Russian projects on the transformation of the global gas and chemical industry

Vitaly Protasov, Business Development Director at Baltic Gas Chemical Company, will deliver a paper presentation at the CIS Gas Monetization conference on 9 April in Moscow.

In his presentation, Vitaly Protasov will discuss the trends in the global gas and chemical industry and how Russian projects affect its transformation. The presentation will cover such important points as the impact of global megatrends on gas chemistry and give medium-term scenarios for the development of the industry.

In addition, an overview of key technological, raw materials, market and political factors affecting the industry today will be made. Vitaly Protasov will also elaborate on how new investment projects in Russian gas chemistry can affect global markets.

Currently, Baltic Gas Chemical Company is implementing a project for the construction of a methanol production plant in the city of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region. The total cost of the project is estimated at $ 1.5 billion. This will be a plant for processing natural gas into methanol with a capacity of 1.7 million tons per year.

The main engineering partner of the project is the Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering. Danish company Haldor Topsoe is the licensor of the plant and the technology partner of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering, Marubeni Corporation is the leading trading partner of Baltic Gas Chemical Company.
