Let’s get one thing clear: when you have hundreds of millions of dollars at stake along with already challenging profit margins and the very risky nature of the projects, you don’t really have a margin for error. A strong project management organisation is critical for megaprojects with multiyear horizons and dozens of stakeholders.
That’s where Downstream Project Management conference comes in, addressing these challenges and presenting practical case studies, customer journeys and latest applications of innovative technology in project management in the refining and petrochemical industry.
In 2018, in partnership with BASF, the fifth edition of the conference will also feature a site-visit to the Ludwigshafen site, the world’s largest integrated chemical complex located in Germany.
There are 200 production plants at the site producing thousands of commercial products from basic chemicals to highly refined products such as paints and pesticides. A site-visit will also include two steam crackers which are among the largest of BASF’s production facilities in Ludwigshafen and form the heart of the facility.
